Martha Jane Wait, age 78, of Lynchburg, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Crestwood Ridge Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation in Hillsboro. She was born on October 18, 1942 in Albany, Kentucky, the daughter of the late William Jesse and Georgia Ada (Honeycutt) Norris. She was a homemaker and devoted mother. She is survived by three daughters, Georgiana (Paul) Miller, Pamela (Andy) Keaton both of Lynchburg and Sally (Daniel) Alegria of Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister, Beulah Wells of Mt. Orab; grandchildren, Joshua Davidson, Kelly Dyer, Stephen, Erick and Benjamin Henize, Belia, Angelina and Olivia Alegria and several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Charles Marvin Whiting, second husband, Othel Jones and third husband, Paul Wait; one daughter, Mary Dobbins; three sisters, Mary Means, Ruby Groce and Margaret Undine Shelley; five brothers, Edward, Bruce, Joe, Schuyler and Fred Norris. Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Pastor Robert Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Vienna IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
