Troopers say three people are lucky to be alive after a man drove a pickup truck through the side of a house.
Joseph P. McQuiniff, of New Holland, was driving a silver Chevy 1500 at around 11 p.m. Tuesday night on Egypt Pike in Ross County.
According to troopers, McQuiniff was speeding and failed to maintain a curve. He drove through a yard, through a two car garage, and into the side of a two story house. A man and a woman were asleep inside the home on the second floor of the house that sits in the 8900 block of Egypt Pike.
Neighbors who spoke to the Guardian said they heard a loud boom when the crash happened.
No one was injured, troopers said, but firefighters worked for several hours to stabilize the home from collapsing. First responders were seen using chainsaws and wooden beams to keep the walls and floor of the home from caving in while the truck still sat inside.
McQuiniff was not injured and the highway patrol said he was not drinking.
