CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Downtown Chillicothe Ohio will be hosting its fall cleanup day, Saturday, November 13.
According to organizers, the event is to prepare the downtown area for the annual Christmas Open House. The organization holds two cleanup days every year. Once during the spring and another in the fall.
“Come prepared with your brooms, leaf blowers, and any other tools you think will be helpful,” said a representative of the organization.
Area churches and other civic groups also join in the cleanup. “We usually have 30-60 volunteers each time,” they said.
Those interested in participating should meet in the grassy area near the Water Street entrance to Yoctangee Park at 8 a.m., Saturday.

Members told the Guardian over 70 bags of trash have been collected since the first cleanup day in 2018. Cigarette butts, they say, are the biggest culprits.
Downtown Chillicothe Ohio is a local nonprofit whose mission is to coordinate and work with other area groups to help revitalize the downtown area.
As reported by the organization, they have played a key role in the implementation of several incentives, including Build Chillicothe, a Qualified Opportunities Zone, Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA), and a Downtown Redevelopment District.
