PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — A fifth-grader was arrested after law enforcement said they posted a threat online.
According to Pickaway County Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey, a fifth-grade student at Saltcreek Elementary posted a threat against their school online. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office responded to the elementary on Thursday.
The sheriff said after a brief investigation, the student admitted to posting the threat to social media.
The student, officials say, has been charged with inducing panic, a second-degree felony. Reports say the child was taken into custody and is currently being housed in the Multi-County Juvenile Detention Center.
