CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The correctional officer fired in Ross County for allegedly using state computers to manufacture fake vaccination cards has been given his job back.
Fearl Chrisman, 49, Waverly, of Chillicothe Correctional Institution was on paid leave last summer.
“Fearl Chrisman was placed on administrative leave on June 14, 2021 pending an administrative investigation into the alleged reproduction of false vaccine cards and misuse of state property,” said state spokeswoman JoEllen Smith.
The state’s Highway Patrol investigated and Chrisman was released from his job. However, last week, the state agreed to rehire the man back after his union fought for reinstatement.
The seven months Chrisman was without a job will be marked as an unpaid suspension on his employee file. He will return to his original rank, position, and pay scale, but will not receive any back pay.
