CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Nearly 7,000 addresses and more than 15,000 people are without power in Chillicothe.

The outage occurred Sunday morning just before 2 a.m. and impacted approximately 7,000 addresses.

Ohio’s American Electric Power (AEP) said that the estimated restoration time was 8 a.m., however, many customers reported intermittent restoration around 4 a.m.

The outage impacted areas near Walmart to the paper mill, and Main Street from Western Avenue and University Drive to Seventh Street.

In addition to power outages, Spectrum customers were without services, as well.

AEP was not able to immediately comment on the cause of outage. Law enforcement said they had no idea what caused the outages, either.
