A GoFundMe has been set-up to help the family of a Chillicothe prison employee who died on the job.
A friend of the family for Brandon Collier, who worked at Chillicothe Correctional Institute, started the online fundraiser earlier this week.
“We lost a great man, Brandon Collier, unexpectedly to everyone who knew him it’s terrible news,” wrote Shelby Cheadle. “He leaves behind his wife Mandy who was his high school sweetheart of 22 years and his two children, Drake six-years-old and Jaron, seven-years-old. He worked for CCI almost twenty years and loved his job, but no one plans for this. I am asking if you can help with any donations that would go to help his wife and children get through this horrible time.”
Collier died unexpectedly on Monday after he experienced a health complication while on the job, which his family says was exacerbated from induced stress of a workplace situation.
So far, a few dozen people have donated. As at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, almost $15,000 was raised.
