WILMINGTON, Ohio — The threat of severe weather continues to increase across the region.
An enhanced risk for severe weather has been expanded by the Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma to include Ross, Pickaway, Highland, and Fayette Counties.
A cold front will move across the area this afternoon into this evening. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to form along this front. Storms today could produce damaging winds, large hail, and a few tornadoes.
The National Weather Service in Wilmington says after the front passes, strong winds will continue with gusts around 45 mph. The threat of power outages will be a concern going through the overnight hours.
Residents are encouraged to stay weather aware this afternoon.
