Ricky Lee Williams, Sr., age 63, of Hillsboro passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the Highland District Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born May 2, 1959, in Chillicothe, Ohio, the son of the late John and Evelyn (Everhart) Williams.
Ricky proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired after 27 years of service. He also retired from Ferno in Wilmington after working 27 years. He was a life member of the VFW Post 9094, and he enjoyed motorcycles, old cars, fishing, hunting, building car models, and most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Ricky is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rebecca Williams, whom he married on May 6, 1978; three children, Misty (Bobby) Cowan of Leesburg, Ricky Lee Williams, Jr. of Hillsboro, and David Williams of Hillsboro; family friend, Shane (Lorrie) Smith of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Kourtnie Smith, Justin Smith, Lynsey Smith, Grace Cowan, Emma Cowan, Jayson Williams, Kyler Williams, and Chance Smith; four great grandchildren, Weston, Maverick, Samuel, and Waylon; four siblings, Randy (Viv) Williams of Hillsboro, Janet (Randy) Whaley of Winchester, John Williams, Jr. of Leesburg, Debra Williams of Leesburg and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday March 2, 2023, at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will follow visitation at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday March 2nd. Burial, with military honors presented by the Highland County Veterans Honor Guard, will follow services in the Gilboa Cemetery.
