FAYETTE COUNTY, Ohio — The search for a missing Fayette County woman ends in tragedy.
Naomi Sayre, a 21-year-old Bloomingburg who has been missing since March 4, was found dead early on Wednesday, according to Fayette County Sheriff Vernon Stanforth. The discovery was made around 12:45 a.m. in the village of Bloomingburg, the Sheriff’s Office said.
While the exact location of the body has not been disclosed, Stanforth said that more details will be released later. Officials say Sayre’s body was transported to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy. An official cause of death has yet to be released.
Sayre, reports say, had left her home on March 4 after an argument with her boyfriend. In the days following her disappearance, the community rallied around the family in hopes of finding the woman safe.
The news of Sayre’s death shocked and saddened the small community.
