LANCASTER, Ohio — Residents of the area experienced high winds and severe storms on Wednesday, causing power outages and property damage in the region. As of Thursday morning, many residents are still without power.
South Central Power, a leading utility company in the region, reported that crews have been working around the clock to replace poles and repair power lines damaged by the high winds on Wednesday. As a result, over 1,000 members of the community are currently without power, with the majority of the outages being in Fairfield and Ross counties.
The damage caused by the storm has been extensive, with broken poles and trees on power lines among the many issues facing repair crews. Despite the significant challenges, South Central Power has assured the public that they will continue to work until all power is restored.
Officials have urged residents to remain patient and avoid any dangerous situations involving downed power lines.
