ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Ross County firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 215 Westview Drive. The 911 call came in shortly after 5 p.m.

The fire broke out at a single-story home in the area, prompting immediate response from firefighters.

According to initial reports, the residents of the home were able to evacuate safely before the fire spread further. Firefighters arrived on the scene and quickly worked to contain the flames.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing thick black smoke billowing from the structure from miles away. There is currently no word on what caused the fire, but an investigation is expected to be launched soon.

As of now, the extent of the damage to the home is not known. However, firefighters are continuing to work on the scene.
