CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — It seems that a local man, Mark Madrid, has found himself in hot water after a brew-tal altercation turned his calm morning into a full-blown espresso of rage. On the dark roast of the evening on what was supposed to be a peaceful brew-sing through the day became a caffeinated catastrophe as Madrid hurled a coffee cup at a woman, hitting her leg, according to authorities.
Upon receiving the alarm of violence, Deputies Dylan Speakman and Melissa Baldridge of the Ross County Sheriff’s Office rushed to the scene, only to find the victim steeped in distress. As they poured over the details, the victim recounted how Madrid’s temper boiled over, leading to a sharp exchange where the coffee cup found itself latte-flung towards her.
The scene was a bitter blend of chaos and fear. The photographs taken by Deputy Baldridge captured the grim essence of the attack—shattered ceramic pieces scattered around told a tale more chilling than an iced latte.
The victim was firm in her grounds to file charges against Madrid, dismissing any romantic blend between them, stating they were merely cohabitants on the same grounds.
As deputies brewed up the courage to confront Madrid, they were met with a robust bitterness. Madrid vehemently roasted the accusations, proclaiming the coffee cup was aimed at the door, not the victim. However, the trail of shattered ceramic across the porch was a strong brew of evidence against his tale.
The frothy tension led to Madrid being arrested for assault. Though not handcuffed due to his disability, the belligerent man was escorted to a patrol vehicle, and then to the robust confinement of Ross County Jail. Even amidst the stern faces of the law, Madrid’s temper continued to percolate, leaving a bitter taste with the jail staff, authorities noted.
Justice will be filtered down in this bitter cup of woe as Madrid appears in court this week for assault.
