POMEROY, Ohio — On February 22nd, 2024, Meigs County Deputies were kept busy with a range of incidents across the county. Here’s a rundown of the day’s activities:
At 2:37 AM, deputies were dispatched to investigate a complaint of threats on N Main St in Rutland. Upon arrival, it was determined to be a verbal disagreement with no physical altercation. The situation was peacefully resolved after deputies spoke with both parties involved.
Shortly after, at 2:39 AM, assistance was provided to Middleport PD concerning an inmate causing issues on Pearl St in Middleport.
At 6:21 AM, deputies responded to a complaint of theft on Callaway Rd in Coolville. However, after speaking with the caller, it was determined that no report was necessary, as they only wanted to make someone aware of the situation.
Later in the day, at 1:04 PM, a report was taken for an assault on Leading Creek Rd in Middleport. Deputies arrived on scene, obtained a statement from a male individual, and requested assistance from Meigs County EMS to assess his condition. The incident is currently under investigation.
Around 3:04 PM, deputies were called to investigate a report of a male possibly discovering dynamite on his property. Upon inspection, it was revealed to be a road flare, and the situation was deemed safe.
Minutes later, at 3:24 PM, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person on Hysell Run Rd in Pomeroy. Despite patrolling the area, they were unable to locate anyone matching the description provided.
Simultaneously, at 3:24 PM, deputies attended to a non-injury accident on Bradbury Rd near SR 7 in Middleport. The scene was secured for the State Highway Patrol to take over.
At 4:41 PM, assistance was provided to Pomeroy PD for a disabled vehicle on E. Main St in Pomeroy.
Shortly after, at 5:12 PM, deputies assisted Pomeroy PD with an investigation on W. Main St in Pomeroy, aiding in scene security.
In the evening, at 9:13 PM, assistance was rendered to Meigs County EMS for a medical call on Pearl St in Middleport. Deputies secured the scene upon arrival.
Closing in on midnight, at 11:29 PM, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person on Bigley Ridge Rd in Long Bottom. The individual was located, and the situation was resolved peacefully.
In addition to the day’s activities, Katlynn Allman was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear out of Meigs County, adding to the law enforcement’s efforts in maintaining public safety and order.
