POMEROY, Ohio — Meigs County Deputies responded to a variety of calls on March 4th, 2024.
At 3:57 AM, deputies conducted a traffic stop on SR 124 in Syracuse, issuing a verbal warning for a vehicle defect.
Shortly after, at 5:20 AM, deputies investigated a complaint on Bone Hollow Rd in Middleport, regarding a male presence at a residence. However, upon arrival, they found no contact with the male subject.
A more serious incident unfolded at 7:14 AM, as deputies assisted State Highway Patrol, Meigs County EMS, and Syracuse Fire Department in handling a motor vehicle crash on 3rd St in Syracuse. Deputies promptly secured the scene.
Later in the morning, at 12:18 PM, deputies assisted Gallipolis PD in locating a male on 6th St in Racine, only to discover no one residing at the given address.
The afternoon brought further challenges, including a 911 hang-up on Bone Hollow Rd in Middleport at 12:20 PM, where deputies found the male subject had fled and the female refused to cooperate.
At 1:06 PM, a neighbor dispute erupted on Sycamore St in Racine, resulting in a citation for an animal at large issued by the Dog Warden.
Traffic stops also kept deputies busy, with verbal warnings issued for speed violations on US 33 near Pine Grove Rd in Racine at 3:31 PM and near Peach Fork Rd in Pomeroy at 4:15 PM.
A more dramatic incident occurred at 5:36 PM, as deputies engaged in a pursuit on Townsend Rd in Albany. After initiating a traffic stop, the vehicle’s occupants fled on foot, prompting an ongoing investigation.
Wrapping up the night, at 8:33 PM, deputies responded to a domestic violence call on Bigley Ridge Rd in Long Bottom. They arrested Charles Fink on an outstanding warrant through Meigs County Court and transported him to the Middleport Jail after medical clearance at Holzer Meigs ER.
