POMEROY, Ohio — Two individuals are now in custody following a drug trafficking investigation in Meigs County.
The Meigs County Sheriff’s Office announced on Friday the arrest of Tristan Shealey, 44, of Rutland, Ohio, on charges of complicity to drug trafficking and drug possession. Madison Donaway, 25, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, was also arrested.
Sheriff Scot Fitch stated that his office, in collaboration with the Southeast Major Crimes Task Force, conducted a traffic stop yesterday in the area of Pomeroy Pike. During the stop, deputies utilized a K-9 unit, which reportedly detected the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. According to the statement, Donaway was concealing the suspected drugs within a body cavity. She removed items suspected to be a large quantity of heroin and fentanyl.
Following the arrests, a search warrant was executed at the residence of Tristan Shealey at 72 Mulberry Street in Rutland. Authorities seized 150 grams of substances suspected to be heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine.
Sheriff Fitch noted that additional charges related to the case may be forthcoming. The investigation is ongoing.
