MASON, Ohio – A guest at Kings Island was injured Wednesday evening after entering a restricted, fenced area of the Banshee roller coaster, the park announced in a statement.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:00 p.m. when the guest is believed to have been struck by the ride. Kings Island’s safety and first aid personnel responded and contacted local emergency responders. The injured guest was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment.
As a result of the incident, the Banshee roller coaster was closed while local authorities and park personnel conducted an investigation.
“Kings Island’s focus continues to be on the welfare of the guest and his family,” the park’s statement read. “There is no additional information to share at this time.”
