WASHINGTON, D.C. — The ongoing national strike by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers has prompted the suspension of international mail services to Canada, effective November 29, 2024, according to the United States Postal Service (USPS).

In a service alert, USPS announced that Canada Post is unable to process or deliver international mail due to strike-related disruptions. As a result, U.S. customers are advised not to send mail or packages to Canada until further notice.

The suspension affects several services, including Priority Mail Express International® (PMEI), Priority Mail International® (PMI), First-Class Mail International® (FCMI), and other international mailing options.

USPS stated it is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as operations resume. Customers seeking additional information can visit the Canada Post website at canadapost.ca/negotiations or check the USPS International Service Alerts page.

The strike by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers has caused widespread delays, and it remains unclear when normal mail services will resume.
