A convicted felon on parole is the man troopers say led them and others on a high speed chase and manhunt yesterday in Ross County.
Jeremy L. Bowen, 26, Bainbridge, is wanted for multiple charges, including felony fleeing after law enforcement officers say he was driving a stolen car on Sunday and led them on a pursuit.
Speeds reached more than 80 miles per hour Sunday evening after troopers say Ross County deputies tried to stop Bowen on route 41 driving a stolen car. He refused to stop and led deputies, troopers, and Chillicothe Police officers on a high speed chase through downtown Chillicothe. For part of the pursuit, Bowen drove onto route 23 in the opposite direction and was trying to intentionally ram oncoming cars, troopers reported.
The man bailed out of the stolen car on River Road and a manhunt ensued. The search was called off two hours later after Bowen reportedly called a significant other and told them he refused to go back to prison and would “shoot it out” with police.
Bowen is currently on parole for three counts of burglary from Franklin County and has pending charges in Chillicothe from a previous run in with police earlier this month.
Last month, he led troopers and deputies from Franklin and Pickaway counties on a high speed chase. He also had warrants out of Fayette and Marion counties.
Bowen is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, dial 9-1-1.
