A local man in Pickaway County has been charged with arson less than an hour after the fire started.
The fire broke out at 412 South Pickaway Street in Circleville Thursday afternoon.
Eugene M. McClaskey, was arrested and charged with three felonies, including aggravated arson and disrupting public services.
Police said they were able to make the arrest because of eyewitnesses in the area. According to police, “multiple” neighbors saw McClaskey running from the scene.
He was caught an hour later around the block.
