Dewayne Eddie Scaggs, 51, of Peebles, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019 as a result of an accident. He was born in Chillicothe, Ohio son of the late Amos Woodrow Scaggs and Lydia Mae Tackett Zimmerman of Waverly, Ohio. He is survived by a daughter, Lesley Scaggs and Ryan Rodgers of Waverly; two grandchildren, Ledger Scaggs and Dax Rodgers; a brother, Scott Scaggs and wife Tammy; two sisters, Cryssie Hafer and husband Tim and Peggy Ward and husband Shannon; two nieces, Payton Thompson and Leigh Ward and four nephews, Zack Scaggs, Billy Lykins, Kyle Ward and Michael Hafer and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Dewayne was preceded in death by his step-father, Preston Keith Zimmerman.
A Celebration of Dewayne’s life will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019 at Grace United Methodist Church in Waverly.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Botkin Hornback Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.
