A confirmed tornado of an unknown strength tore through Pickaway County near Circleville and the Ross County line early Tuesday morning.
As the storm barreled through Ohio late-Monday night and into the early morning hours of Tuesday, numerous tornadoes spawned near Dayton, with a confirmed tornado also hitting Pickaway County just south of Circleville, along route 23.
Two semi tractor trailers were overturned at Loves Truck Stop along route 23, with multiple power poles snapped like toothpicks. Meteorologists have confirmed that it was a tornado that touched down in the area, but the National Weather Service has not classified the strength as of Tuesday morning. According to the NWS, survey crews will visit the area sometime Tuesday to look over the damage and determine the size of the tornado and how powerful the winds actually were.
Hundreds were without power, including Wiliamsport near New Holland and a few homes and businesses inside Ross County.
No serious injuries were reported in Pickaway or Ross counties as a result of the storm.
