The Ross County Humane Society is seeking donations to help them off-set the cost of medical care for a dog that was abused.
On Wednesday, the Humane Society said they received a call from a local vet office the puppy that had been beaten by their owner.
It is alleged that the owner hit and kicked this puppy, the Humane Society said.
“Our vet at Northfork stabilized it and it was rushed by our staff to Medvet in Columbus,” the organization said. “We are seeking donations to cover the care of this puppy who has had one of the worst starts in life.”
The puppy is currently intubated at Medvet and is receiving emergency treatment.
“We are unsure of its prognosis at this time. The care will most likely be costly and we do not know if the puppy will survive.”
Charges are pending against the owner for animal cruelty, the society said.
