An early morning fire in Fayette County on Tuesday sent several area fire departments to the scene.
The fire set ablaze a house along Moon Evans Road in Jefferson Township just before 7 a.m.
Departments from Greene County and Madison County assisted firefighters from Fayette County in extinguishing the blaze.
Jefferson Township Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Warner said that the homeowners were not home when the fire started.
A fire marshal was summonsed to the scene to investigate how the fire might have started.
Fayette County Sheriff Vernon Stanforth was also at the scene. Stanforth grew up just down the road from where the house is located.
