The Federal Bureau of Investigation was in Chillicothe Monday assisting in a bomb investigation.
Interim Police Chief Larry Bamfield confirmed to the Guardian that the FBI was in town helping the police department. The assistance comes after Chillicothe authorities discovered two explosive devices in recent days. The Columbus Fire Department sent their bomb squad into the city to assist in detonating the explosive ordinances.
“The first on Dayton last week, then on Adams yesterday. We can’t name a suspect yet but he’s in custody and the investigation continues,” Bamfield told the Guardian.
The interim chief did not say what the man is expected to be charged with.
“We don’t think he was targeting anything in particular. We hope we can figure out his motivation during the investigation.”
