Multiple fire departments are battling a large brush fire in Massieville in Ross County.
The call came in Sunday afternoon at around 3:15 p.m. at 1940 Massieville Road. When firefighters arrived, the fire was starting to spread up a large hill between Toad Hollow and Moss Hollow roads.
More than a half-a-dozen fire departments are battling the blaze, which firefighters are unable to get under control as of 3:45 p.m. It would take about an hour for the fire to be contained at around 5 p.m.
Ash was coating the area as mild winds picked up burnt embers and carried them to nearby properties and vehicles.
ATVs have been brought in to assist in assessing and battling the inferno.
The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
