Veryl L. Chamberlain, age 86, passed away peacefully Monday, June 7, 2021. She was born March 13, 1935, in Byer, Ohio to the late Harry and Myrtle Hooks. Veryl is survived by her daughter, Kelli (Jon) Albanese, and her “other” daughter, Tena (Shawn) McLaughlin; grandchildren, Kenzie Veryl (Shawn) Warren, Kate (Ryan Hogan) Albanese, Kandace (Jesse) Hayes, Krysta Chamberlain, and Faith McLaughlin; great grandchildren, Amelia, Remy, Kaleb, Lacy, Konner, and Brookelynne. Veryl is also survived by her dear friend Mary Tompkins, and many other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Kenneth G. Chamberlain Sr.; her son, Kenneth G. “Kacy” Chamberlain Jr., and her longtime companion William Mason.
Veryl graduated from Central High School in 1952. She was employed for 45 years at ISO Commercial Risk Services where she spent most of her time in Human Resources. Veryl also taught Sunday school for over 60 years at West Park United Methodist Church, and was proud to have been the past President of The Central High Alumni Association. Veryl was a selfless person who cared for everyone, especially her family. In her free time, she was an avid card player who loved Euchre and Hand and Foot. She and her daughter shared beautiful memories of family time spent on Topsail Island in North Carolina and on Lake Erie. Veryl had a lovely smile that could light up a room and was a bright presence in many people’s lives. She will be deeply missed.
