COLUMBUS, Ohio — Tim Ryan’s campaign for U.S. Senate raised $9.1 million in the second quarter of 2022, more than double the previous fundraising record for a Senate candidate in Ohio.
“As Tim crushes fundraising records and polls show him overtaking serial fraud and San Francisco millionaire JD Vance, there should be no doubt who has the momentum in Ohio’s U.S. Senate race,” said Tim for Ohio spokesperson Jordan Fuja. “While JD Vance relies on Big Tech Billionaires to prop up his campaign, we’re proud to have grassroots support from Ohioans in all 88 counties who know Tim is the only candidate who will fight for them in the Senate.”
89,975 new donors contributed to Tim’s campaign this quarter, and contributions averaged just $37.49. More than 97% of contributions were $100 or less.
Today’s numbers come as new polling shows Tim leading JD Vance 48%-46%. While Tim has a net favorable approval rating and is consolidating Democrats and earning support across party lines, JD Vance is underwater by 11 points, with only 38% of voters viewing him favorably. Read the memo here.
In addition to his historically strong fundraising and growing momentum in the polls, Tim has also been endorsed by Senator Sherrod Brown and Congresswomen Joyce Beatty and Marcy Kaptur, as well as more than two dozen labor organizations, including the Ohio AFL-CIO and the Ohio State Building and Construction Trades Council, nearly 250 state and local elected officials, and leaders and activists in every corner of Ohio.
