PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — A Pickaway County mother will spend the next two decades behind bars in connection with the overdose death of her 20-month-old child.
Brianna Roush, 27, was indicted back in January after her child ingested the deadly synthetic drug fentanyl.
Roush and Nicholas Lee, 25, admitted to authorities that they were engaged in drug trafficking activities out of their Circleville apartment. Another child at the residence also suffered from a drug overdose but survived.
Roush was sentenced to 19 to 24 ½ years in prison.
Another mother is facing similar charges in Ross County after investigators said her child died from a suboxone overdose. Amanda Lowery of Chillicothe is facing one count of involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment. Her trial is scheduled to begin in October.
