JACKSON, Ohio — An Arizona man is behind bars after investigators said he traveled across the county to have sex with an underage girl.
According to Jackson County Sheriff Tedd E. Frazier, 27-year-old Kameron E. Tolbert, of Peoria, Arizona, started an online relationship with the local teen. Reports say deputies were dispatched to a residence on August 22 on reports of a man crawling from a window in the home.
The Sheriff said that deputies were able to locate Tolbert after deputies found his vehicle, a white 2022 Toyota Rav4, in the parking lot of Jackson High School. Tolbert, officials say, was taken into custody by the school’s resource officer.
Investigators say Tolbert admitted to meeting the juvenile online 6 months ago. The two, reports say, communicated via Discord and Google Photos.
Tolbert said he flew to Columbus on August 20. He then stated he traveled to Jackson and engaged in a sexual encounter with the teen.
Tolbert is charged with unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. Authorities say additional charges may be forthcoming.
He is currently incarcerated in the Jackson County Correctional Facility pending arraignment.
“We appreciate the vigilance of the Jackson High School in their assistance in apprehending the suspect,” Sheriff Frazier said.
“An online relationship can turn into a dangerous personal meeting. I encourage parents to monitor their children’s online activity and warn them of the dangers of online predators.”
