ADAMS COUNTY, Ohio — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating what is being called a “murder-suicide.”
According to initial reports, the incident happened Saturday morning. WLWT in Cincinnati reports that dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call from a minor at the home of Kathleen Newkirk and John Newkirk, both 75, who alerted authorities to their residence on Duffey Road.
No further details have been released at this time.
Last month another murder-suicide occurred within the county. On September 14, deputies were dispatched to Southern Ohio Lumber along Route 73 on a reported shooting.
The victim, later identified as 33-year-old Rachel Madden, was shot, and killed by her estranged husband, 32-year-old Jason Madden.
Following the deadly shooting, Madden would flee the scene but was later located after turning the gun on himself.
