ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Ross County mobile home fire is being investigated as arson by the state’s Fire Marshal’s Office.
The Guardian reported on the structure fire that occurred on October 27, along Wilson Run Road.
According to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin and Huntington Township fire departments arrived on the scene of the fire and noticed a green Dodge pickup truck parked in front of the residence. Firefighters told deputies that when they pulled up to the scene, the truck left quickly.
As part of the investigation into the blaze, officials noted that the back door appeared to have been broken into. Investigators said two fires had started in various parts of the mobile home including a trash pile in the front yard. The mobile, authorities said, appeared to have been abandoned for some time prior to the fire.
The owner of the property resides in Columbus and was unable to be located at the time, the sheriff’s office said.
The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information on the fire is asked to contact the Ross County Sheriff’s Office.
