Carol J. Worley passed away peacefully at her Hillsboro, Ohio home, surrounded by her loving family on January 9, 2023.
She was born November 30, 1940 in Xenia, Ohio.
On May 16, 1981, Carol and Dr. Thomas Worley were married at Walnut Hill Church near Leesburg. With God’s providence and direction, their adventurous time together took them cross country to live several years in Washington State and beyond. A highlight of travels for Carol were visits to Israel’s Holy Land.
In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by her children: son Jeff (Debbie) Cockerill of Leesburg; daughters, Cindy (Jim) McCallister of New Martinsburg; Mary Anna (Philip) Cunningham of Berry, Alabama; and Lynn (JC) Collins of Chillicothe. Carol loved and delighted in her grandchildren; JW (Cori) Cockerill, Dee (Brad) Flint, Luke Jackson, Wesley (Bettsy) Cunningham, Chris (Margaret) Cunningham, Clayton (Holly) Collins, Megan (Jon) Murray, and Cristian (Sydney) Collins. She is further survived by 14 great grandchildren and two brothers, Larry (Marcella) Dillard and Roger (Juanita) Dillard all of Greenfield; and siblings-in-law Gretchen (Richard) Carson of Hillsboro, Gayle Carroll and Kenny (Lois) Worley both of Leesburg, Teresa (Marty) Pollard of Greenfield and Jimmy (Cindy) Worley of Leesburg.
Carol was a living example of a Proverbs 31 woman: always Looking well to the ways of her household and eating not the bread of idleness. She created a welcoming Christian home filled with warmth and laughter; a haven for all who visited.
Carol was met on Heaven’s shore by her parents Hazel and Virgil Dillard, her brother Randy Dillard, her sister, Marsha Lynne Rose, her grandson Clark Thomas Collins, and her father-in-law, Charles B. Worley, and mother-in-law, Marianna Worley.
Supreme in Carol’s life was an unshakable faith and love for Jesus. She was always ready to share her testament of His impact on her life wherever she went. She had a special love for her church family, most recently those of Berrysville Holiness Church and formerly at Walnut Hill Church. She enjoyed singing Christian songs, and was gifted in loving all people regardless of circumstance. Through her prayers, love for her family and friends, and faithfulness, she leaves a Godly legacy. She is greatly missed by her family who anticipate a “glad reunion day” in that “better home awaiting” where sorrows, sadness, sickness, and death do not exist. May God continue to guide all those temporarily left to “travel on” for now to follow the footsteps of Sister Carol Worley and to ultimately keep that Circle Unbroken!
