NELSONVILLE, Ohio — A Nelsonville traffic stop led to the discovery of a large quantity of suspected narcotics.
According to the Nelsonville Police Department, officers initiated a traffic stop along Poplar Street for a vehicle registration violation. During the traffic stop, it was discovered that the driver of the vehicle had a suspended license, and the registration was expired.
The vehicle, authorities said, was subsequently towed. It was during an inventory of the impounded vehicle that the suspected drugs and other items indicative of drug trafficking were discovered.
The case, the police department said, will be presented to the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office for potential charges.
