ADAMS COUNTY, Ohio — Hip Hop star Afroman, whose known for his songs, “Because I Got High,” and “Crazy Rap” recently released a music video, featuring footage from a 2022 raid by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio.
On August 21, 2022, deputies, and members of the county’s Special Response Team, executed a “drug-related” search warrant at the home of Afroman, whose real name is Joseph Foreman.
Shortly after the search warrant, the rapper took to the social media platform Instagram to share images of the raid from his home security system. In a statement at the time, Foreman claimed, that this raid was all over a marijuana vape cartridge.
No drugs were found during the raid, but $5,031 in cash was seized but later given back. The rapper claims that $400 remains unaccounted for and accuses the sheriff’s office of theft.
The video and song titled “Will You Help Me Repair My Door” has been viewed over 2 million times on YouTube.
In a statement to VICE News, Adams County Sheriff Kimmy Rogers said that his office and deputies have received threats since the release of the music video.
“I can handle it, but I don’t appreciate some of the messages coming in about Adams County deputies getting ambushed, ‘I hope they die slow,’” Rogers said. “It’s kind of tolling on some of the officers. I doubt that your family would want that said about you.”
