WAVERLY, Ohio — The Waverly Police Department is mourning the loss of K9 Sergeant Gold who recently passed away. The department will be holding a memorial ceremony in honor of the fallen K9 on Tuesday, January 31, starting at 11 a.m. at the Waverly American Legion located at 201 James Road.
The public is invited to join the Waverly Police Department in honoring the memory of K9 Sergeant Gold and his dedicated service to the community. The public is also invited to line Emmitt Avenue to show support for Sergeant Taylor and his family as they bring K9 Sergeant Gold home for the final time. The last radio call for K9 Sergeant Gold will be at 12 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the Waverly Police Department is accepting donations to Pike Pet Pals with the Pike County Dog Pound at the American Legion upon K9 Sergeant Gold’s arrival.
The Waverly Police Department invites everyone to come out and show their respect for K9 Sergeant Gold and his service to the community.
