GUERNSEY COUNTY, Ohio — Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and Guernsey County Sheriff Jeffrey D. Paden today announced the indictment of Joshua Matthew Sills, a 25-year-old man from Sarahsville, on rape and kidnapping charges. Sills is an offensive guard for the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles.
According to the indictment, Sills engaged in sexual activity that was not consensual and held a victim against her will in December 2019. The crime was immediately reported to the authorities, who launched a detailed investigation by the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office. The case was presented to a grand jury and is being prosecuted by the Special Prosecutions Section of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
Sills has been indicted on one count of rape and one count of kidnapping, both first-degree felonies. He has been issued a summons to appear in Guernsey County Common Pleas Court at 1 p.m. on February 16.
