SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio — In a shocking turn of events, a local woman was shot by her live-in boyfriend on January 27th, according to the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred after a heated argument, during which the suspect threatened the victim with a firearm. The victim, 34-year-old, Sara Swallows, was rushed to a nearby hospital following the shooting.
After the shooting, the suspect, Reggie Wilson, fled the scene and was later spotted in the Minford area near his wife’s residence and the victim’s ex-boyfriend’s property. Authorities received information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts, leading to his arrest by the Ohio State Highway Patrol on January 31st.
Wilson was charged with one count of Felonious Assault, a second-degree felony, one count of Having Weapons While Under Disability, a third-degree felony, and Drug Abuse, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was held in the Scioto County Jail on a $31,000 bond and appeared in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Wednesday, February 1st, where he was allowed to sign his own bond.
