COLUMBUS, Ohio — American Electric Power (AEP) has once again been recognized as one of the world’s most admired companies, according to Fortune magazine. The electric and gas utilities company has been included in the 2023 World’s Most Admired Companies list, marking the 10th consecutive year that it has received this recognition.
The list, which evaluates companies’ financial performance and corporate reputation, is determined through a survey of top executives, directors, and financial analysts. The survey asks for their opinions on 9 different criteria, including financial soundness, use of corporate assets, long-term investment value, quality of management, quality of products and services, people management, innovation, social responsibility, and global competitiveness.
Out of 645 companies from 27 different countries that were surveyed for this year’s list, AEP was one of the companies selected for recognition. Julie Sloat, AEP’s President, and CEO said, “We’ve received this recognition for a decade, which speaks to our ability to execute and deliver value to our stakeholders. We look forward to continuing this legacy by powering the communities we serve, leading the transition to a clean energy economy, and strengthening our commitment to operational excellence.”
