JACKSON COUNTY, Ohio — Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Jackson Post responded to a single motorcycle injury crash that took place on Franklin Valley Road near Keystone Station Road on February 12, 2023. The incident was reported at 4:19 pm.
According to the reports, 26-year-old Kolton Strickland of Oak Hill, Ohio was riding a black 2017 Harley Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic motorcycle when he lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a curve on Franklin Valley Road. Strickland drove across the centerline and off the left side of the roadway, where he struck a tree and was thrown from his motorcycle.
Strickland, authorities said, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and sustained serious injuries. Jackson County Emergency Medical Services immediately rushed to the scene and provided medical assistance.
Strickland was then flown to Saint Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia by Medflight due to the severity of his injuries.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Jackson Post is investigating the crash.
