VINTON COUNTY, Ohio — On March 30, 2023, the Vinton County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple incidents throughout the day. Deputies were busy with everything from conducting traffic stops to investigating stolen vehicles.
The day started with deputies checking on a suspicious person at Crosscreek General Store at around 12:50 a.m. Later, at 1:12 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on State Route 93, which resulted in the arrest of Colby Ward, who had outstanding warrants out of Vinton County. Ward was transported to Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
In the early hours of the morning, at around 5:15 a.m., deputies responded to Perry Ridge Road after a vehicle was reported stolen. Fortunately, the vehicle was found wrecked near the owner’s residence and was returned to the rightful owner.
At 8:59 a.m., deputies checked on a residence on Wilkesville Avenue in Hamden after receiving a complaint of suspicious activity. Later, at 11:22 a.m., deputies responded to Duncan Square in reference to a neighbor dispute.
Deputies then conducted a search warrant on State Route 328 at 11:51 a.m. The afternoon continued with deputies responding to an overdose on State Route 160 at 2:42 p.m. Later, at 4:18 p.m., deputies responded to U.S. Highway 50 regarding a theft.
The evening hours saw deputies conducting multiple traffic stops. At 5:43 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted on State Route 93. Later, at 8:53 p.m., deputies conducted a well-being check on U.S. Highway 50. At 9:55 p.m., deputies checked a suspicious vehicle on Meeksville Road, and at 10:52 p.m., another traffic stop was conducted on U.S. Highway 50.
