CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A DoorDash driver had a frightening experience while delivering an order in in Ross County, which led to them pepper spraying a man.
According to the driver, as they were leaving a home in Kenowa Village Mobile Home Park after dropping off food, a man with long dreadlocks — who.was wearing an Olive Garden hat — walked in front of the delivery driver’s car and stared at them through the window. When the driver asked if they could help him, the man replied that they were in front of his house and he demanded to know who they were. The driver explained that they were a DoorDash driver and were leaving to continue working.
As the driver began pulling away, they noticed that the man had jumped into a blue van and was following them. The driver became very fearful that the man was going to harm them physically and started speeding away. The man chased the driver with the pursuit continuing south on SR-104, with the man staying right off the driver’s bumper.
Eventually, the delivery driver stopped at the BP gas station on High Street in Chillicothe. That’s when the man got out of his vehicle and began punching the driver’s car and trying to get into a fight with them. In self-defense, the driver pepper-sprayed the man, forcing him to retreat back to his vehicle and leave the area, a police report shows.
Deputies attempted to follow up at the address where the delivery took place but were unable to locate the suspect or his vehicle.
