CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe City Council is set to convene for its regular meeting on Monday, May 8, at 7 p.m. The council’s agenda for the meeting includes several items related to community services, civic engagement, and public works. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting and participate in discussions.
The meeting will begin with an invocation from a private citizen. The council has clarified that the views expressed by the speaker do not necessarily represent the council’s views or beliefs.
The meeting will then proceed with the following agenda items:
- Second reading of an ordinance amending Section 311.02 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Chillicothe, Ohio. This ordinance will amend certain provisions related to the city’s public health and safety regulations.
- Second reading of an ordinance accepting and appropriating $9,452.07 received from public entities Pool of Ohio for the replacement of street light fixtures that were damaged due to automobile accidents and declaring an emergency.
- Second reading of a resolution granting use of the municipal parking lot on the corner of Fourth and Paint Streets to Paper City Mentoring Project for their Maker Fair on September 3rd, 2023.
- First reading of an ordinance authorizing the employment of one part-time seasonal clerk within the Law Director’s office and declaring an emergency.
- First reading of an ordinance supporting the City’s community yard sale weekends, waiving the applicable yard sale permit fee of five dollars ($5.00) for participants and declaring an emergency.
- First reading of a resolution confirming the appointments of Michael Maughmer, Andrea Holmes, Lisa Johnson, and Jamie Brown to the Non-Profit Funding Committee.
