CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The City of Chillicothe has recently received grant funding to embark on an infrastructure project that aims to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility. The project entails the installation of a new sidewalk along Buckeye Street, accompanied by curb and gutter improvements for stormwater management and ADA-accessible ramps.
The Engineering Department of Chillicothe has completed the design phase of the project, which encompasses the construction of a sidewalk along the north side of Buckeye Street. The new sidewalk will stretch from the intersection of Buckeye Street and Piatt Avenue, extending all the way to the intersection of Buckeye Street and Safford Avenue.
To ensure a smooth execution of the project, the City is currently seeking interested contractors who can submit competitive price proposals for the work. Bidding proposals can be obtained from the local newspaper or downloaded from the City’s official website at www.ChillicotheOH.gov. Contractors are encouraged to review the specifications and submit their proposals within the specified timeframe.
In order to provide residents and stakeholders with comprehensive information about the project and address any inquiries, a public meeting has been scheduled. The meeting will take place at the Outdoor Shelter House located at the Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library, Northside Branch, situated at 550 Buckeye Street.
All interested individuals are invited to attend the meeting, which is scheduled for Wednesday, May 31, from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. This will provide an opportunity to learn more about the project details, express concerns, and ask questions directly to the City’s Engineering Department. For those unable to attend the meeting, the City’s Engineering Department can be contacted at 740-773-8981 for further information.
