CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A 6-year-old child was bitten by a dog in Chillicothe on Tuesday.
The boy was at the home of his friend when he was bitten on the back of the right leg. The boy’s father said that the child was knocking on the door of a neighbor’s when a teenage girl opened the door and a large dog ran out and bit him.
The boy was taken to Urgent Care, where the wound was cleaned and bandaged. The Urgent Care employee said that their report would be forwarded to the health department for follow up.
Police officers went to the house where the bite happened, but the woman who owned the dog said that she and her children were at football practice at the time of the bite. She also said that all of her dogs were in cages when nobody was home.
The investigation is ongoing.
