ATHENS, Ohio — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office was kept busy from over the weekend, responding to a range of calls for service across the county.
Friday, February 23rd:
Deputies embarked on a mission to Frost Hill Road in Coolville to apprehend a subject with a warrant, only to find the individual was not at the residence. Meanwhile, at Penn Street in Glouster, deputies intervened in a threatening situation, resulting in one subject being transported to the hospital for evaluation.
Other incidents included a suspicious vehicle on Mill Creek Road, a well-being check on Harmony Road, and resolving a family dispute on Carr Road in Nelsonville. Deputies also responded to various calls involving juveniles and firearm-related concerns, ensuring the safety of the community.
Saturday, February 24th:
The day saw deputies responding to an array of incidents, from alarms to attempted warrants. Notable events included the apprehension of Lakota Blackford, aged 32, with an active warrant. Deputies also addressed well-being checks and an alleged burglary on State Route 682 in The Plains.
Sunday, February 25th:
The weekend concluded with deputies handling neighbor complaints, theft reports, and alleged assaults. They responded to a variety of locations, including Chauncey, Athens, and Glouster, addressing concerns ranging from loud noises to potential domestic violence situations.
