CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Local attorney, Jason M. Miller, has officially announced his Republican candidacy for the Chillicothe Municipal Court Judge, aiming to fill the judicial seat of the Honorable John B. Street, who is not seeking re-election for the term beginning January 1, 2026.

Miller, a Ross County native with deep local ties, is currently an Assistant Law Director for the City of Chillicothe and practices law with Villarreal Law Firm. He brings a wealth of experience from nearly 24 years as a trial attorney and a diverse legal background to his candidacy.

Miller’s legal journey began after graduating from Zane Trace High School in 1994 and earning a bachelor’s degree in English from Ohio University in 1998. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor degree from Ohio Northern University in 2001. Throughout his career, he has practiced law across Ohio, serving as Assistant Prosecutor in Ross County, Municipal Prosecutor in Hardin County, and legal counsel for local municipalities and ambulance districts.

Notably, Miller has tried over 100 felony and misdemeanor jury trials and hundreds of bench trials in criminal and civil courts. His experience also includes serving as Acting Judge in the Bellefontaine Municipal Court and as a certified Mediator by the Ohio Supreme Court.

In addition to his legal career, Miller has been actively involved in the community, participating in civic organizations such as the American Red Cross, Chillicothe Evening Lions, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and the Chillicothe Rotary. He has also played significant roles in statewide judicial campaigns.

Miller resides in Chillicothe with his wife, April, and their two daughters, who both attend Chillicothe High School. His candidacy reflects his commitment to public service and the legal welfare of his hometown.
