KINGSTON, Ohio — The Green Township Fire Department is accepting applications for part-time firefighter positions and building an eligibility list for future full-time hires, the department said in a social media post.

Applicants must hold certification as an Emergency Medical Technician and Firefighter I, the minimum qualifications the department is requiring for both the part-time openings and the full-time list, according to the post.

The department, also known as the Kingston-Green Township Fire Department, is a volunteer-based agency that operates out of two stations serving Green Township in northern Ross County, including its main house on North Main Street in Kingston. The township covers about 43 square miles along the Pickaway County line and was home to more than 5,100 residents as of the 2020 census, according to public records.

Fire Chief Rick Halley is overseeing the hiring process and is asking interested candidates to reach out to him directly, the department said.

Those interested in applying can contact Halley at [email protected] for more information, according to the post.
