WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Fayette County commissioners have appointed Kate Wells, the county’s economic development director, to serve as county administrator, with Dana Foor named as her deputy, according to meeting minutes.

Commissioners voted unanimously June 1 to appoint Wells as county administrator of the board effective June 29, on a motion by Commissioner Donald Fleak that was seconded by Commissioner Tony Anderson, the minutes said.

The vote followed a closed-door executive session that morning in which commissioners discussed personnel matters involving Wells and Commissioner-elect Brance Johnson, according to the minutes.

In a second unanimous vote, commissioners appointed Foor as deputy county administrator of the board, also effective June 29, on a motion by Anderson that Fleak seconded, the minutes said.

Commissioners James Garland, Anderson and Fleak approved both appointments by roll call vote, according to the meeting record.
