WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Fayette County commissioners rejected the lone bid submitted for a dewatering building under the county’s Rattlesnake Water System Improvements project and ordered the project rebid, after the offer came in well above the engineer’s estimate.
Doll Layman Ltd. of Tipp City submitted the only bid received for the Rattlesnake Water System Improvements Contract A-1 — Dewatering Building, at $1.25 million, compared with Fayette County Engineer Jason Little’s estimate of $820,000, according to the July 20 meeting minutes. Commissioners voted to reject the bid and rebid the project on Little’s recommendation.
The dewatering building is one piece of the county’s multi-contract Rattlesnake Water System Improvements project, which has been divided into separate construction contracts.
